2021 Blue Sky Thinking

Happy New Year, I hope you're very well indeed!
Despite the fact that we have started the new year in another lockdown, there is plenty to be positive about as we begin 2021. For a start, it can't be any worse than 2020!
I’ve had a good long break and feel refreshed enough to tackle the January cold grey days and I am ready to start 2021.
No list of new year resolutions, just to stay healthy, sane and positive.
Maybe my optimism is crazy with so many hurdles still to overcome, but I have hope and would like to work on some of my new daft ideas with the help of some creative thinking, to be able to contribute to a more positive future.
I am working on an Autumn-Winter 2021/2022 Collection, despite not having been able to show my Spring-Summer 2021 last October, due to virus we weren’t able to take part in Paris Fashion week.
With the help of the amazing Angela Quaintrell from AQ Market, I hope to move my business forward and launch my Modal and Silk clothing collections into retail outlets.
As regards to a positive future, conversations about quality and sustainability have became more relevant and necessary than ever before, and both Brexit and the pandemic have made everyone very aware of how much we need to support locally made goods. I take joy and pride in creating all my products with this in mind, but making and printing lampshades myself has been my favourite pastime in the last year. This Christmas I was able to sell quite a few at a local Christmas market, transforming recycled special bottles into unique lamps.
This year I’ll be putting more of these onto my website, as well as the the new Modal and silk capsule wardrobe collections. Yes, it’ll be a busy year, but I think 2020 has taught me how to keep busy, stay creative, be positive and patient, always expect the unexpected, and never to take anything for granted.
