Inspired

Inspired by my muse/cat Snoesje’s lovely red embroidered “vision cushion”, see last week's blog, I decided to make up my own red for this week’s Quarantine Creations.
I adore red, in fact, it is one of my favourite colours.
It is the colour of love, danger, courage and good luck. So, rather than painting the town red, I am spending more time in my studio/shed.
I mixed a standard red with a bit of yellow to make the colour “pop.”

What would Scarlett O’Hara do…?
Like Scarlett, in “Gone with the Wind” I do give a damn about getting the “right red”, as I’ll be using it a lot over the next weeks, printing straight onto fabric.
A good red deserves a blank canvas.
Whilst mixing the colours for printing inks, I test them on canvas, not paper, to see how they work when dry.
Then the printing can start, stay tuned, to see what I’ll be using this print for…..
I would love to see what inspires you and what you are up to creatively, feel free to reach out.
