I’ve become so good at pivoting in my business, I’m almost dizzy but the good thing is that due to the plentiful supply of lemons, my lemonade is full of vitamin c!
We’ll never forget the way that this year has shaped many people's lives, the losses people have endured and the uncertainty that still lingers in the background.
To say the least, it is undeniable that COVID19 has caused a lot of turbulence. With a worldwide affect, highlighting the need for systemic change - the fashion industry in particular. As a designer and as a brand I’m even more inspired to; prioritise values over trends, help reduce waste, encourage greater circularity, continue to make in Britain and promote quality over quantity.
Without doubt, by springtime we’ll all want to be wearing more colourful items to match the general outlook.
Hopefully we’ll be venturing out more; outdoors, heading to shops, bars and restaurants with friends and family and visiting each other’s houses as well as getting used to thinking more globally and acting more locally.
In preparation, my wholesale Colour Pop Spring Summer 2021 collection is ready!
Due to Leicester’s shutdown, production of the Modal for my collection was late, but it all got made and it is now waiting to be seen at AQmarket’s beautiful new showroom in Clerkenwell in London, unfortunately we weren’t able to take part in Paris Fashion week.
I believe that comfortable clothing is what we have all become used to, so versatile items of softness, good fit, and breathability will become the “new trend”.
Not only will a pop of colour add positivity, it may also be able to lift a bit of the gloom after winter. To continue my positive outlook, I’ve also added Event-wear to my tran-seasonal wholesale collection in the hope that by springtime, we’ll want to party and celebrate again.
Colour plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live.
