An Evening in Mayfair, London•
Posted on October 20 2017
Last Thursday night I featured as a guest speaker at the PCD Ladies event, sponsored by Freeths LLP, Praxis IFM and Seven Investment Management LLP in the beautiful 12 Hay Hill Mayfair.
It was a wonderful opportunity to share my journey and show my collections.
PCD Ladies event 12th October
My collections are inspired by my own challenge of how I could create a versatile wardrobe for everyday wear or an extended trip, which would provide me with a range of styling options. From Day to Night, from Desk to Dinner, from Office Hours to After Hours, from Meeting to Movie.
With my passion for art and textiles and experience as a silkscreen printer/designer, I designed a capsule clothing collection and range of wearable art statement accessories. The essence of my brand is versatility. The shapes, sizes and colours give the wearer the opportunity to refresh and renew a small capsule wardrobe of outfits and create a variety of looks which express their individuality.
The prints are created through the silkscreen process, which are then digitally printed on the highest quality silk with deep ink penetration to show the vivid colours and print designs on both sides of the fabric. Each item is finished by hand with delicate pin-hem stitching and attention to detail. The collections are 100% British. I am proud to work with suppliers and manufacturers all over the UK.
My multi award winning collection is an expression of my love for creativity and innovation.
AVA TUNIC DRESS is a lightweight Modal jersey tunic dress with innovative neckline loops, to allow all scarves to be styled easily and create a perfect harmony between a capsule piece and a statement accessory.
WRAP TOPS The ties can be tied in a bow at the front or back. The ties can be crossed across the body and tied through the neckline loop at the back. The ties can be folded vertically up the body and tied through the neckline loop to create a jacket effect.
TUBE TOPS Silk and organza Tube Tops can be worn as a top, a scarf or a bolero.
THE ASHMOLEAN COLLECTION (the Limited Edition; Flowers, Day to Night and Multicolour collections) was my very first collection inspired by my trips to the Oxford Ashmolean Museum’s textile collections whilst studying textile design.
THE OUT OF AFRICA COLLECTION A range of prints inspired by striking masks (The Men Collection) and shields (The Beads Collection) inspired by time spent in Africa and the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford.
THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS COLLECTION A range of prints inspired by Victorian history and flowers connected to love, with a 60’s and 70’s twist. The Rose, Forget-Me-Not and Passion Flower scarves, tops, three sided skinny and sleeve scarves are available in a variety of styles, sizes and colours.
CARISSA An eye-catching acrylic, magnetic modular jewellery collection which can be used as a brooch, to style scarves, or worn as statement earrings.
