I am delighted to be able to tell you all that I have won PLATINUM in the annual A’Design Awards for my Language of Flowers print collection!
Supporting the concept of good design is so important to me, and it is truly wonderful to have effort acknowledged. I’ll be booking my ticket to Italy for the gala presentation dinner in Como, a beautiful and inspiring city, so look out for my Insta posts towards the end of June!
The A'Design Award and Competition is the world's largest juried design competition and highlights excellence in designs, design concepts and design-oriented products from around the world. Held annually in Italy categories include Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware; Jewellery, Eyewear and Watch; Fashion and Travel Accessories and Interior Space and Exhibition Design.
I’ve written before about my inspiration for The Language of Flowers Collection stemming from a fascination with the Victorian concept of using flowers rather than words to express our innermost thoughts and feelings. I was also greatly inspired by the floral tile design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
My collection of modernist screen-print designs feature a mix of different flowers, including the Rose, the Forget-Me-Not, and the Passion Flower and are used in my range of scarves and accessories. All are designed and produced in Great Britain.
Further, this Collection actively supports causes close to my heart, with 10% of online sales from the skinny scarves going to three nominated charities: Look Good Feel Better, Alzheimer’s Societyand Royal Trinity Hospice.
