Our Inspiration

Our Inspiration

Bianca was originally inspired to found her new fashion label because she wanted to combine her passion for art with her passion for high quality clothes Made in Britain.

After two years of research and development, with contributions from artists, designers and printers from across Great Britain, Bianca Elgar was able to launch our first collection of silk scarves and outfits at Oxford Fashion Week; where it generated a huge buzz.

All of the vibrant scarves, dresses, skirts and tops created by Bianca Elgar have been designed to enhance any woman’s wardrobe and to complement each other.

This magical effect has been achieved by adding unique features such as neckline loops which act as the perfect anchor for a wide array of styling ideas; one-sleeve scarves which show off the print for maximum impact and co-ordinating colours which add the perfect amount of sophisticated style.

Made in Britain

Nationally, Great Britain is one of the great fashion powerhouses of the world, and Bianca Elgar has undoubtedly benefitted from the originality and eye-for-detail found in this country; with artists adding a huge amount of creativity to the silk canvas provided by our clothes.

Unique and Chic

By combining art and fashion to create elegant clothes that flatter women of all ages, shapes and sizes, in a timeless fashion, we aim to offer clothes that are unique and chic for the discerning woman, with an eye for quality and art.

Our stable of talented artists and designers continues to grow and we plan to add to our team as we discover new and emerging creative talent.

Adding Your Twist

Having lovingly designed our clothes to complement any wardrobe and to be treasured for a lifetime, we hope that you will enjoy using your own sense of style to add your own artistic twist to our classic Little Black Dresses, scarves and outfits.

Styling Ideas

One of the most enjoyable aspects of launching our collection is that every person who wears our clothes has found a different way of wearing each item of clothing or discovered a style that suits them.

The sheer variety of personal styling options that are possible can be extremely exciting and enjoyable to share and this has increasingly become a focus of the styling ideas section of our website.

Timeless Fashion

So much of today's fashion is made to be thrown away and one of the reasons we have concentrated on developing high quality products is that we think it is important to produce clothes that have a long and valued life and are capable of providing a lifetime of pleasure.

Some of our clothes, especially our black t-shirt top and dresses, include a material called modal which is made from the cellulose of European Beech trees. This material holds the dye particularly well and does not fade as fast as the alternatives such as cotton. Apart from draping beautifully, modal has the added advantage that it is luxuriously soft and washes extremely well at low temperatures. All of these features help to lengthen the useful life of our modal products and to reduce the environmental footprint associated with washing them.

Our packaging also complies with our values with our cardboard boxes being made by UK suppliers using a mixture of recycled cardboard and virgin wood, which has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Show You Care

To get the best out of our products we recommend that you take special care of how you clean and protect your garments.

On silk garments please take note of the care instructions shown on the attached swing tag. We advise dry cleaning for all silk garments, as this will help to prolong their luxury appearance. In fact, all our other garments can also be dry cleaned.

We especially recommend eco dry cleaning, which is gentler both on fabrics and the earth – see and

On non-silk garments, please make sure you check the care instructions on the labels in the side seams.

All of the luxury fibres in our garments and accessories are delicate, so in order to keep them looking lovely we advise protecting them from contact with sharp jewellery, which may snag the fibres.
